Mihai Ungureanu emerges as a prominent figure in the world of pigeon racing, both in the Prahova region and nationally, drawing attention through notable achievements in long-distance competitions over the past two years.
In the early stages of his pigeon racing career in 2000, Mihai passionately dedicated himself to speed-semi-long distance categories, showcasing outstanding results in various competitions. However, aware of the challenging and unfavorable conditions associated with this category, he made the courageous decision to advance towards higher-level categories.
Carefully selecting top acquisitions from renowned breeders in Romania, such as Stanescu&Dobre, Cosmin Olteanu, or Ariciu Catalin, rapidly propelled him onto the pigeon racing scene at the county, provincial, and national levels.
In 2019, Mihai Ungureanu marked a significant transition from short-distance to long-distance categories, and in a remarkably short time, results became evident at the highest level. His performance was highlighted by securing the 3rd place in the National Olympic Lot, in the Fond Category.
His ambition to excel in long-distance categories persisted into the 2023 season when he succeeded in making an impact in the AS Marathon Extreme category. Certainly, this upward trajectory will continue, especially following strategic acquisitions from Jan Theelen, Gebr. Kuypers, and Jan Ernest. Mihai Ungureanu is poised to become an increasingly influential and successful presence in the world of pigeon racing, affirming his status as an elite competitor in long-distance competitions.
