At the national level, Liviu Plavițu is a more than well-known name. Multiple national and Olympic champion, the pigeon fancier from Mehedinti is one of the most ambitious pigeon breeders in Romania, always eager for performance and to become better and better. At the same time, during the 15 years of pigeon fancier activity, Liviu Plăvițu became a real specialist in flights with youngsters, being probably the Romanian pigeon fancier with the most national trophies won in the national championship in the "Youngsters" category.
Liviu Plăvițu, from Drobeta Turnu-Severin, Mehedinți, made his debut in pigeon competitions in 2013, in the season dedicated to youngsters. He had a more than amazing debut, winning that very autumn his first two national trophies: 1 National All Round Youngsters and 3 National Midle Distance.
18 other national trophies won with youngsters
After this first season, Liviu Plăvițu's performance continued in the same manner and, more than that, his national trophies multiplied. Thus, in the very next season, 2014, the pigeon fancier from Mehedinți managed to win three more 1st National places, in categories F, Midle Distance and All Round Youngsters. In 2017, two more national cups were added, 1st and 3rd National All Round Youngsters, so that in 2019 Liviu Plăvițu could climb the national podium again, taking 3rd National place in the Younsters Speed and Youngters Breeders categories. In the 2020 season, Liviu Plăvițu was national vice-champion in the Palmares Youngsters Breeders category and he was also national vice-champion in 2021, in the As Speed Youngters category.
In 2022 and 2023, Liviu Plăvițu categorically dominates the national championship
Although he has had an impressive run so far, it must be highlighted that by far Liviu Plăvițu's best seasons in the national championship of youngsters were, in fact, the last two, 2022 and 2023. In 2022, he dominated simply the Youngsters Breeders category, being national champion in all three sections of it. In 2023, the story repeated itself, Liviu Plăvițu being again national vice-champion at Youngsters Breeders and national champion at Youngsters Breeders 2 and 3 years. But, these were not all the national trophies from the 2023 season. Liviu Plăvițu is also the national champion of the All Round Youngsters category and in the Midle Distance he takes the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th National places.
All these results confirm, better than anything else, that Liviu Plăvițu has extraordinary mastery of the current methods of competing with pigeons at the highest level since the first months of their life.
