SG Weis, Lauer and Huber – Pigeon Racing Excellence at the Marseille National 2022

The trio SG Weis, Lauer and Huber, present at the 2022 Marseille National, is still relatively little known in Romania, but enjoys a strong reputation in international pigeon racing. The outstanding results achieved during the 2022 season quickly propelled them into the elite of marathon racing specialists.

The collaboration between the three long-distance racing enthusiasts began several years ago, driven by a shared ambition to compete in the most demanding races. This decision proved to be inspired, as the partnership started delivering remarkable results at both national and international level within a short period of time.

From the very beginning, they understood that top-level marathon racing requires strong pigeons with exceptional genetic backgrounds. As a result, they consistently invested in elite breeders, acquiring pigeons from renowned fanciers such as Bernd Morsnowski, Menne & Tochter, Rutz & Söhne and Freialdenhofen & Söhne.

The 2021 season already highlighted the trio’s potential through valuable national rankings. However, true confirmation came in 2022, a landmark year in which they achieved:

• 2nd and 6th places in the National Female Marathon Championship

• 1st place at the Marseille National, one of the most prestigious and demanding races in Germany

The Marseille race is widely recognized for its extreme difficulty. In many editions, the winning pigeon’s speed does not exceed 900 m/min. In 2022, the first-arrived pigeon recorded a speed of just 872 m/min, once again confirming the challenging nature of the course and race conditions.

The 2022 season firmly established SG Weis, Lauer and Huber among the international elite, with the following results:

• 9th place – National Marathon Ace Germany

• 20th place – European Marathon

• 2nd place – Seegmuller Cup

• 1st place – Marseille National

• 2nd, 6th and 17th places – Female Marathon Ace Germany

• 13th and 18th places – Male Marathon Ace Germany

• 6th and 10th places – Male Marathon Ace

The strong performances continued in 2024, confirming their consistency at the highest level:

• 16th place – National Marathon

• 10th and 15th places – National Marathon Ace

• 9th place – National Ace Pau (3-year-olds)

• 15th place – National Ace Barcelona (3-year-olds)

• 2nd place – National Ace Perpignan (3-year-olds)

• Honorary title – Arge Barcelona

• Best team of two pigeons at Barcelona, Zone 1 – 1st and 4th zonal

• 9 pigeons classified out of 10 – Barcelona 2024

• Honorary award – Entente Belge

• Best team of two pigeons at Perpignan, Zone 1 – 1st and 2nd places

Transportation costs (both domestic and international) will be paid directly to the carriers.

The transportation rates are as follows

• International transport: 250 RON (50 EUR) per pigeon, for deliveries outside Romania.
• External transport: 125 RON (25 EUR) per pigeon for deliveries from Europe to Romania.
• Home delivery: 250 RON (50 EUR) per pigeon.
• Domestic transport within Romania: 75 RON (15 EUR) per pigeon.

Pigeons will be delivered only to county residences, except in cases where the buyer's residence is more than 25 km away from the designated meeting point. In such cases, the courier will recalculate the cost and arrange delivery within the 25 km radius.

Meeting points:

• Supermarket parking lot
• Gas station parking lot

Meetings on the roadside, at roundabouts, intersections, etc., are excluded.

The courier is required to notify the buyer one day before delivery and again 1.5 to 2 hours before arriving at the meeting point. Upon request and for an additional cost of 5 RON, pigeons can be delivered in a cardboard box.

Delivery times:

• 1-7 days from the date of collection for deliveries within Romania.
• 1-10 days for international deliveries.

Working hours:
Monday - Sunday, from 07:00 to 23:00.

During transportation, the pigeons are considered the property of the courier, who is directly responsible for their well-being. If a pigeon does not meet clinical standards (is unhealthy or weak), the courier is obligated to refuse collection from the seller and immediately inform the auction site's management. Any issues caused by the courier will be financially compensated by them.
