Gheorghe Preda – Excellence in Romanian Marathon Pigeon Racing
Gheorghe Preda from Mărgăritești, Olt County, is a well-established name in Romanian marathon pigeon racing and one of the leading figures of the sport in the Oltenia region. Through exceptional results, remarkable consistency and careful genetic selection, he has built a distinguished record worthy of the most prestigious lofts in Romania.
At the heart of this success stands the cock 0396008/2011, one of the most valuable pigeons in the loft and a true genetic reference. A winner at national and Olympic level, he later became an elite breeder, playing a decisive role in strengthening a family of pigeons capable of performing at the highest level.
After years of consistent results at county and national level, the 2012 season marked Gheorghe Preda's breakthrough on the national stage. With a small team of only 24 pigeons, he proved that true quality is not measured by numbers, but by selection, quality and strategy. The results were outstanding, highlighted by 2nd National Place in Marathon Young Birds with 0396008/2011, alongside numerous top national rankings.
In 2013, the performances reached an even higher level. Cock 0396008/2011 achieved 1st Place in the Olympic Team, Category E – Marathon, as well as national titles in Marathon Overall and Extreme Marathon Overall, establishing himself as one of the outstanding pigeons of his generation.
From 2012 to the present, the results have confirmed a rare level of consistency: 7 National Champion titles, 10 National Runner-up titles and 7 consecutive years on the podium.
Today, the name Gheorghe Preda stands for performance, selection and continuity. A career built with patience and passion, where every result reflects a clear philosophy: quality pigeons, rigorous selection and the ambition to turn performance into a lasting tradition.
