Over the years, Paul has patiently and strategically built an outstanding strain of racing pigeons based on pure quality and proven performance. Among the most important foundation pigeons in his loft are the legendary Brutus and Misty, two top-class breeders that have significantly strengthened the overall genetic power of the colony. In all key pigeons, one will consistently find the influence of Breeding Pair 1 and Breeding Pair 2, the true pillars of this elite line. Through carefully selected introductions of new blood, Paul has always managed to give his colony fresh impulses while preserving its genetic identity.
A true masterpiece of his breeding strategy – built around Pair 1 and Pair 2 – is the legendary “Super Perpignan”, regarded by Paul as the very best pigeon ever produced in his loft. His descendants perform exceptionally well, both in breeding lofts and in competition, not only for Paul himself but also for many top fanciers worldwide. A perfect example is SuperBob, bred by Bob Janssen from a son of Super Perpignan and the renowned Blauw van Pau.
Another outstanding name is Sun Attack, winner of 1st National St. Vincent 2021, clocking as the fastest of 11,617 pigeons. Sun Attack also carries the famous bloodlines of Pair 1 and Pair 2. His grandfather is Blauw van Pau, who is therefore also the grandfather of SuperBob. The mother of Sun Attack was bred from Zoon Brutus x Geertje, a joint breeding project by Wiel and Philip Kicken.
Paul owns pigeons of the very highest quality for extreme long-distance racing, where strength, endurance, and mental toughness are decisive. Experience has shown that the stronger, heavier pigeons often succeed in finishing at the very top. Nevertheless, his strain – built around Breeding Pair 1 and Pair 2 – proves to be highly versatile, performing outstandingly well at afternoon releases, morning releases, and even at the legendary Barcelona race.
