Paul van den Boogaard, residing near the city of Utrecht in the Netherlands, stands out as one of the most experienced pigeon breeders, with an impressive pigeon racing career spanning more than five decades. His passion began at the age of 16 and has been cultivated with dedication to this day, now at the age of 66.
In the early years of his career, Paul participated in program-type competitions, but due to time constraints, he later shifted his focus to long-distance races. The year that marked his career was 1991, when he triumphed in two notable competitions of the time, Hof and Munich. Since then, he has remained committed to his goal of winning a national race, continually investing his passion in this ambition.
Although he maintains a relatively small group of pigeons, Paul van den Boogaard usually enters no more than five pigeons in each national competition. Nonetheless, in 2021, he achieved a remarkable feat by winning the international race from St. Vincent. This success not only solidified his reputation but also highlighted his expertise in high-level competitions, showcasing the mastery he has accumulated over decades of pigeon racing.
