Mircea Remus – A Passion for Marathon Racing, Elite Genetics and International Performance
Based in Germany, Mircea Remus has built his loft around his passion for long-distance and extreme long-distance racing. By investing in quality pigeons, careful selection and consistent preparation, he has achieved important results in both German and international competitions.
Convinced that performance begins with a strong breeding foundation, he acquired pigeons through the PIPA platform from renowned fanciers such as Cor de Heijde and Verweij & Peter de Haan. These acquisitions were selected not only for the quality of their pedigrees, but also for the proven performances of the families from which they originate.
His loft includes descendants of outstanding pigeons such as “Jonge Don Michel”, “Marianne”, “Diamantje”, “Smaragd”, “Milos”, “Miss Milos” and “de Kleine Blauwe”. These bloodlines form the foundation of a breeding program focused on endurance, orientation and consistency in long-distance and marathon racing.
2026 Season – Two International Challenges
Barcelona International 2026 marked Mircea Remus’ first participation in this extreme race, over a distance of approximately 1,070 km. The race was flown under exceptionally difficult weather conditions, with strong winds throughout the entire flight, and not a single pigeon managed to reach home on the first day.
Despite the extraordinary difficulty of the race, 66% of his entered team achieved a prize position, a result that highlights the endurance, character and quality of the pigeons in Mircea Remus’ loft.
Following the Barcelona challenge, the season continued with Bordeaux International 2026 (Germany–France), a race over approximately 780 km, held at the loft in Altornbach, formerly Hermes.
Once again, the race proved extremely difficult, with very few pigeons returning home. Under these demanding conditions, Mircea Remus achieved one of the highlights of his season:
3rd PLACE – INTERNATIONAL BORDEAUX 2026
The result achieved at Bordeaux, following the demanding Barcelona race, confirms the ability of his pigeons to perform in tough international long-distance and marathon competitions.
The quality of his team has also been demonstrated in other demanding races, including events where the winner’s velocity did not exceed 1,100 m/min. These results reflect both the genetic quality of the pigeons and the attention devoted to their selection and preparation.
For the First Time – Descendants Available to Romanian Fanciers
For the first time, Mircea Remus offers Romanian fanciers the opportunity to acquire direct descendants from his valuable breeding pigeons, including pigeons originating from Cor de Heijde and Verweij & Peter de Haan.
This is an opportunity for fanciers looking to introduce into their own lofts established European bloodlines for long-distance and marathon racing, originating from valuable families and selected for demanding long-distance competition.
Through dedication, perseverance and a selection strategy consistently focused on performance, Mircea Remus combines elite genetics with proven results in extremely demanding races.
The 2026 season, with 66% of his team achieving prize positions at Barcelona International and a 3rd PLACE at Bordeaux International, confirms the quality and potential of his loft in long-distance competition.
