Giani Ardelean – Passion, Selection and Performance

Giani Ardelean, from Lupeni, Hunedoara County, has nurtured his passion for racing pigeons since childhood. Despite the challenging terrain and numerous predators in the Jiu Valley, his experience and careful selection have enabled him to build a valuable breeding stock, with proven results both in Romania and in international competitions.

His loft brings together pigeons from renowned European bloodlines: Etienne Meirlaen, Wim Muller, Cor de Heijde, Kipp & Söhne, Jelle Jellema and Rex de Leuw, alongside original pigeons from Andreas Drapa, G. van Tuyl, Benno Kastelein, Gero Dijk and Ronald Geerdink (100% Cor de Heijde). This genetic diversity supports his breeding programme for marathon, sprint, middle-distance and all-round racing.

In this auction, Giani Ardelean offers 12 pigeons with elite origins, from a loft whose quality is also demonstrated by the results achieved by other fanciers:

• Chirila & Șerban – Hunedoara: pigeon 5573378-24, 100% Cor de Heijde, achieved 2nd place in the Yearling Long-Distance category in 2025.
• Mureșanu Adrian – Brăila: with youngsters bred from Ardelean bloodlines, he achieved 1st and 4th place in the Yearling Long-Distance category and 2nd place in the Yearling Ace Long-Distance category in the Brăila County rankings.

On the international stage, at Terra OLR, Giani Ardelean entered just four pigeons and achieved 16th, 33rd and 36th place in the final, highlighting the potential of his birds.

More than 50 breeding pairs are housed in individual breeding compartments, ensuring controlled pairings and clear parentage records for every youngster. Attentive care, rigorous selection and years of experience form the foundation of a loft built with patience and dedication.

Transportation costs (both domestic and international) will be paid directly to the carriers.

The transportation rates are as follows

• International transport: 250 RON (50 EUR) per pigeon, for deliveries outside Romania.
• External transport: 125 RON (25 EUR) per pigeon for deliveries from Europe to Romania.
• Home delivery: 250 RON (50 EUR) per pigeon.
• Domestic transport within Romania: 75 RON (15 EUR) per pigeon.

Pigeons will be delivered only to county residences, except in cases where the buyer's residence is more than 25 km away from the designated meeting point. In such cases, the courier will recalculate the cost and arrange delivery within the 25 km radius.

• Gas station parking lot

Meetings on the roadside, at roundabouts, intersections, etc., are excluded.

The courier is required to notify the buyer one day before delivery and again 1.5 to 2 hours before arriving at the meeting point. Upon request and for an additional cost of 5 RON, pigeons can be delivered in a cardboard box.

Delivery times:

• 1-7 days from the date of collection for deliveries within Romania.
• 1-10 days for international deliveries.

Working hours:
Monday - Sunday, from 07:00 to 23:00.

During transportation, the pigeons are considered the property of the courier, who is directly responsible for their well-being. If a pigeon does not meet clinical standards (is unhealthy or weak), the courier is obligated to refuse collection from the seller and immediately inform the auction site's management. Any issues caused by the courier will be financially compensated by them.
