Team Popa Petrișor – A Family Built Through Selection and Proven by Results

A racing pigeon family takes shape over time through repeated decisions: selecting breeders, testing their offspring and retaining the pigeons that prove themselves in competition. For Team Popa Petrișor, this approach has produced results over several seasons at national, provincial, county and club level.

Progress From Season to Season

In 2021, the team achieved three national Top 20 rankings: 5th National Ace Pigeon – Old Birds Marathon, 8th National Marathon Grand Prix and 17th National Ace Pigeon – Young Birds. At provincial level, the team placed 1st in Ace Pigeon – Old Birds Marathon, 1st in Old Birds Marathon Grand Prix and 6th in Ace Pigeon – Young Birds. During 2020–2021, it also recorded leading county rankings in the Marathon, Ace Marathon, Long Distance, General, Gold, Izium National and Tokmak categories.

The 2022 season was affected by the disastrous race from Periam, which prevented the team from meeting its objectives in its target categories. In 2023, the team turned its attention to the Poland route. Its results included 1st and 3rd at county level in Ace Pigeon – Young Birds Marathon, 3rd in Young Birds Marathon and 2nd in Breeders – Marathon. At club level, the team also achieved first places in Marathon, Ace Marathon and Young Birds Marathon.

Results continued in 2024, with 3rd at county level in Marathon, 2nd in Ace Marathon and 3rd in Marathon Palmares 2023–2024. In 2025, the team placed 1st in Gold Young Birds at club level, 2nd at county level in Atena National and 3rd at county level in Breeders – Atena National.

The 2026 Season – Further Confirmation

In 2026, Team Popa Petrișor placed 2nd provincially in Old Birds Marathon, 5th provincially in Ace Pigeon – Young Birds and 7th provincially in Ace Pigeon – Old Birds Marathon.

At county level, its results include 1st in Old Birds Marathon and Atena National Palmares 2025–2026; 2nd in Ace Pigeon – Old Birds Marathon, Ace Breeders and Breeders – Atena National; and 3rd in Breeders – Marathon. At club level, the team took first place in categories including Breeders – Long Distance, Breeders – Long Distance Two-Year Palmares, Old Birds Marathon, Ace Pigeon – Old Birds Marathon, Breeders – National Ace and Atena National Palmares.

The partnerships Iordache Laurențiu & Popa Petrișor and Paraschiva Sorin & Popa Petrișor Loft also achieved significant results. The former placed 1st at club level in Ace Pigeon – Young Birds Marathon and reached the podium in other categories. The latter placed 1st at county level in Ace Pigeon – Young Birds and recorded multiple club victories across Sprint, Middle Distance, General, Ace Pigeon – Young Birds and Gold Young Birds.

About the Pigeons Offered in This Auction

The pigeons offered in this auction come from families selected and tested in our loft. They include descendants of breeding pairs and bloodlines represented in the team’s results.

As a new generation takes shape, we have decided to give other fanciers the opportunity to introduce these bloodlines into their own lofts. We believe each pigeon should be assessed through careful consideration of its pedigree, relatives and documented performances. The family’s results provide a basis for selection; each individual must prove its own value through breeding and racing.
