Paulssen & Zn. – The Netherlands | Tradition and Performance in Long-Distance Racing
Pierre and André Paulssen, from Roosteren, the Netherlands, are a well-established name in Dutch pigeon racing. The Paulssen family’s involvement in the sport dates back to 1951, when Pierre, at only 6 years of age, took his first steps in pigeon racing.
After achieving important results during the 1970s, the loft gradually shifted its focus towards long-distance racing from 1980 onwards, as Pierre’s son André became increasingly involved. The breakthrough came in 1986 with victory in the National Dax race, a result that firmly established the loft’s direction towards the great long-distance races.
Over the years, Paulssen & Zn. built their family of pigeons by introducing valuable bloodlines from renowned fanciers such as Gijs Dolleweerd, Albert Simons – Van der Wegen, Harrie & Roger Wijnands, Nouwen–Paesen, Luc van Coppenolle and Jac & Wil Brouwers.
