Popa Irinel : 3 International Super Maraton World Best Pigeons 2022

          After the presentation of the first two positions in the World Best Pigeons competition in the Super Marathon category, it was the turn of the occupant of the 3rd place so that the podium would belong entirely to Romania.

          It should be noted that all 3 positions of the podium were occupied by breeders from the Moldovan area, so we can say that at this moment the Moldovan breeders are giving the exact time in the extreme marathon contests.

        The breeder who manages to occupy the third position of the podium in the Super Marathon category is none other than Popa Irinel, a young but very well-known breeder who has only been flirting with the pigeon sport for a few years.

          He tackles only the long-distance categories with great success and since his debut, more precisely since 2018, he has managed to become the National Champion in the Long Distance category within another pigeon-loving entity in Romania.

          Starting with 2019, out of the desire to compete in a much stronger competition, he decided to test his strength within the FNCPR and only 2 years later, in 2021, he managed to achieve truly spectacular results.

          First, he managed to aim for the Long Distance category, placing himself on the second position of the national podium both in the Gold Long Distance category and in the Long Distance YL category with the super female "666-21".

          Out of the desire to succeed more, he also approached the marathon category, which he managed to win through two spectacular arrivals of the male "302 - 21". After the centralization of the two races of over 950 km, he was propelled to the third position of the International podium in the Super Marathon category.

          As a flight system, the male "302-21" was competed naturally, on several-day-old eggs in the first stage of the marathon, respectively on approximately 10-day-old young in the stage with which he finished the norm in the youth marathon category.

          Regarding the origin, his parents were purchased from the Brussels Olympics, having consecrated marathon origins such as Batemburg, Jan Ernest or Overwater. "I can say that I did not expect such a result, especially since this male was the only yearling that was in the World Best Pigeon ranking in the Super Marathon category," Popa Irinel said.

          As regards the way in which pigeon racing evolves in Romania, Popa Irinel herself maintains that it is heading in the right direction and that the competition is increasingly fierce from year to year.
