Mircea Remus is one of those Romanian fanciers who, after moving abroad, managed to build a strong reputation through hard work, passion, and smart investments. Living in Germany, he quickly established himself as a respected name in marathon and extreme marathon racing—competitions that are true tests of character for both pigeons and breeders.
Born in Romania, where he spent many years and first discovered his love for pigeons, Mircea Remus brought the Romanian pigeon racing tradition with him to Germany. There, he adapted it to Western standards of competition. His passion reignited four years ago when he decided to acquire top-class pigeons and return to racing.
A World-Class Genetic Foundation
Remus understood that success doesn’t come by chance—it’s the result of elite genetics, rigorous training, strategic planning, and consistency. To raise the level of his loft, he invested in top pigeons from Cor de Heijde and Verweij & Peter de Haan, purchasing them through auctions on the famous PIPA platform. This transformed his breeding loft into a genuine center of excellence for long-distance and extreme-distance pigeons. Among the prestigious bloodlines in his loft are descendants of:
“Jonge Don Michel”
“Marianne”
“Diamantje”
“Smaragd”
“Milos” and “Miss Milos”
“De Kleine Blauwe”
Year-on-Year Success
With such a strong genetic base, Mircea Remus has been able to build a competitive family of pigeons already proving their quality. At the Rosenhein Pigeon Club, where he often outperformed general-category pigeons with his marathon team, he has won at both zone and provincial level. His defining moment, however, came at the International Narbonne race, which drew nearly 17,000 pigeons.
Outstanding Results with the Barcelona Winners Club in Altornbach
Just a year ago, Remus entered 40 youngsters at the Barcelona Winners Club, determined to compete in the famous Western international races against the best marathon fanciers from Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. At this year’s Narbonne International, 10 of his pigeons were entered by club manager Florin Zamfir—and they delivered an outstanding performance. Of the 10, an impressive 9 returned home, with 7 ranking nationally and 4 internationally.
Within the club standings, Remus achieved exceptional results, taking 1st, 2nd, 7th, 9th places and more. These achievements place him firmly among Germany’s pigeon racing elite and prove that a Romanian fancier can set the pace even in the toughest international competitions. His results are even more remarkable considering that many of these races finish at speeds below 1100 m/min—true endurance tests where only world-class pigeons can prevail. Thanks to his consistency and meticulous preparation, his loft has become both a benchmark for competitors and a source of inspiration for Romanian pigeon fanciers abroad.
Sharing His Success
This season, Mircea Remus is also giving Romanian breeders the chance to acquire direct descendants of his top pigeons—a rare opportunity to bring Europe’s finest genetics, tested in the hardest international races, back to Romania. With these bloodlines, local fanciers can strengthen their own lofts and raise their game in endurance competitions.
Mircea Remus is more than just a passionate pigeon racer—he is a true visionary of the sport. Through inspired investments, impressive results, and his willingness to share success with others, he has become a role model for the entire Romanian pigeon racing community. His performance at the Narbonne International—9 out of 10 pigeons home, with top rankings nationally and internationally—stands as a milestone in recent history and confirms that Romania has world-class ambassadors in international pigeon racing.
