Caplea Doru is a dedicated pigeon fancier from Mehedinți County, with valuable experience and remarkable results in racing pigeon competitions. Through his passion and seriousness, Doru has managed to constantly establish himself on important podiums at both regional and national levels, thus confirming his status as a top breeder in the Oltenia region.
In the Caplea family, pigeon racing is a family passion. Doru’s father, Constantin Caplea, is one of the oldest and most experienced pigeon fanciers in Mehedinți County. Thus, Doru Caplea grew up among racing pigeons and, in turn, has already gathered rich experience and an important record of achievements.
Excellent Results on the Western Route
With the change of the route from East to West in 2022, Doru Caplea’s results became even more significant. In the very first flying season on the new, much more difficult route, Doru Caplea achieved the performance of becoming provincial champion in the Young Birds Long-Distance category, an achievement that brought him recognition and respect within the pigeon racing community. The year 2023 brought even more notable successes: 2nd place provincial in the Extreme Marathon Adult category, also in Oltenia province on the western route, where his pigeons covered impressive distances of approximately 1,200 km, including the Stendal and Berlin stages.
An important result from 2023 was also winning 1st place county in the National Berlin race, with pigeon number 704402-21, a male that was the star of the season.
The Breeding Loft Formed with Stichelbaut Pigeons
Moreover, Doru Caplea carries forward the story of Frans Labeeuw’s pigeons, owning in his breeding loft extraordinary specimens from his bloodlines. It has been proven in his loft that the Stichelbaut line of the old Labeeuw is unbeatable, capable of winning almost impossible races, whether over mountains or under the scorching heat of Hungary. These pigeons not only impress through their origin, but have confirmed themselves with top results, demonstrating value, endurance, and consistency.
Thus, the tradition of performance intertwines with the present, providing the certainty of a solid foundation for future generations of champions.
