Passionate to the extreme about the pigeon sport, Andrei Bondar seems to be going through the best form of his career so far. Already a multiple national champion, with results achieved in consecutive seasons, Andrei Bondar starts the 2026 season as a great champion as well.
Andrei Bondar is a member of the Bihor County Pigeon Fanciers Association and competes under two loft names: “Bondar Andrei” and “Team Șuț-Bondar”. In tandem he competes together with his cousin Vlad Șuț. Both teams are formed only from cocks: 18 entered under the racing name “Bondar Andrei” and 14 under “Team Șuț-Bondar”. The lofts are located in the same place and are managed by Andrei Bondar.
Super arrivals at the first race
The first race of the 2026 season in the Bihor County Pigeon Fanciers Association was Törökszentmiklós, which for Andrei Bondar had the distance of 109.5 km. A total of 5,161 pigeons and 94 fanciers participated.
The arrivals of the cocks were truly spectacular, Andrei Bondar occupying the first 11 places on the release. The first 10 pigeons arrived in a group and were clocked in the same minute, only a few seconds apart, starting from 08:28:32. The 11th was clocked at 08:29:08. The flying speed of the first arrivals was over 1,490 m/min.
Andrei Bondar also won the breeders classification. Thus, he occupied 1st place under the tandem name and 2nd place under the “Bondar Andrei” name. Out of the 32 pigeons entered in total, 26 were classified!
1st places also at the second race
The second race was Cegléd. Participation was 5,161 pigeons and 100 fanciers, and the race distance for Andrei Bondar was 154.4 km. The fancier from Sântandrei managed once again to dominate, winning 1st place in both classifications (pigeons and breeders) thanks to the pigeons raced under the “Bondar Andrei” name. This time as well, he managed to place several pigeons in the top 10 of the race, namely places 1, 6, 7, 9 and 10, while in the breeders classification he obtained places 1 and 4.
The percentage of prizes was a very good one: 15 out of 18 pigeons under the “Bondar Andrei” name, where he also won 1st place, and 13 out of 14 pigeons under the “Team Șuț-Bondar” name, where he obtained 4th place.
The first 6 places at race no. 3
At the third race of the season, Budapest, Andrei Bondar achieved another series of super arrivals: the first six places on the release! Added to these were, once again, 1st and 2nd places in the breeders classification. At this race, Andrei Bondar had the distance of 204 km. Participation was 5,071 pigeons and 104 fanciers. Just like at the first race, the six pigeons arrived at the same time, being clocked in the interval 09:41:04 - 09:41:21. The flying speed was 1,353 m/min.
The races were won by the same cock
By far, the most important aspect of these races is the fact that at all three stages, 1st place was occupied by the same cock: the young cock RO-25-007755! Although it seems incredible, especially since at two of the races several pigeons arrived at the same time, the young cock hit the trap first every time, thus taking a very serious option for future results at national level!
“We did not make changes compared to last year. We continue with the same widowhood cock system, separated this year three weeks before the date of the first race. We use the same Gaby Vandenabeele feed from Beyers, to which we also added a little Wal Zoontjens feed, from the same producer. The cocks sat twice for seven days each time, first in February and then at the end of March. We made 22 training tosses with them, from 9 to 75 km. Most were of 25-30 km, one of 50 km and four or five of 75 km. Also, ever since they were sitting on eggs, they received a treatment against respiratory problems and, afterwards, a treatment against trichomoniasis,” stated Andrei Bondar.
