All Round Yearlings 2025: 449 norms achieved by yearlings

If at the “Mature” category almost one thousand norms were fulfilled by pigeons older than one year, at All Round Yearlings, the 2025 season recorded 449 norms achieved by yearlings.

To reach this standard, the pigeons were required to score in eight race stages, with distances ranging from 100 km to over 475 km. Thus, the level of difficulty in this category is high, and the young racers who manage to achieve top national results deserve special recognition. At the end of the season, two fanciers from Suceava and one from Olt County reached the national podium at the All Round Yearlings 2025 category. The national champion confirms the exceptional form displayed throughout the season, while the runners-up are experienced breeders with an impressive national trophy record.

“Mr. Record” – National Champion at All Round Yearlings

After winning the national title at the Long Distance Yearlings category with a record-low score of 1.73 penalty points and the national vice-champion title at As Fond Yearlings, “Mr. Record” — the outstanding racer of the team Iacob, Gabi & Costică — adds another national title to his palmarès: National Champion at All Round Yearlings 2025.

In this category, the cock achieved a total coefficient of 46.81 penalty points, confirming the consistency and strength demonstrated since the beginning of the season. His best performances come from the three long-distance (fond) stages that also formed the basis for the national title at Long Distance Yearlings:

·       2nd place out of 3,881 pigeons – 605 km

·       4th place out of 6,351 pigeons – 608 km

·       12th place out of 20,652 pigeons – 537 km

Vieru Liviu Returns to the National Top at All Round

Liviu Vieru, from Caracal – Olt County Federation, remains one of the most titled fanciers in the country at the All Round category. His palmarès includes dozens of national trophies and notable records, including the rare achievement of winning three consecutive races with the same pigeon in the 2021 season.

In 2025, he adds another national cup to his collection: 2nd National at All Round Yearlings, achieved with the hen RO-2024-1028019. The hen was competed on Plan 1, on the Moldova–Poland route, and the limited number of stages that could be centralized at the All Round category on this plan did not prevent her from achieving the norm and a total coefficient of 66.50 penalty points. Among her best results:

·       2nd place out of 9,358 pigeons – 360 km

·       2nd place out of 6,995 pigeons – 240 km

·       1st place out of 655 pigeons – 360 km

·       5th place out of 4,410 pigeons – 549 km

The vice-national champion results from a collaboration between Liviu Vieru and Florin Petrache. She was bred from an original Marc & Geert Pollin cock, belonging to Florin Petrache, and a consanguineous daughter of the famous RO-2019-1007132 — a double national champion at All Round and Middle Distance, national vice-champion at Speed, Olympic pigeon at Category H, and winner of the three consecutive victories at speed mentioned above.

As usual, this season Liviu Vieru also applied the widowhood system. The pigeons were separated two weeks before the start of the season, after raising one youngster. They were fed with Versele Laga mixtures — Gerry, Superstar and Energy — and between races they performed two to three training flights of approximately 80 km.

Narcis Găitan Again on the National Podium

National Champion at All Round Mature in 2024, Narcis Găitan from Suceava confirms his consistency in the 2025 season by once again reaching the podium — this time ranking 3rd National at All Round Yearlings.

The performance was achieved with the hen RO-2024-0033082, which finished the season with a total coefficient of 83.63 penalty points. In 2025, the breeder competed 34 pigeons, using the widowhood system. Feeding was based on Depurativ, Gino Clicque and Dynamik mixtures, produced by Vanrobaeys.

The result is even more remarkable considering that Narcis Găitan is working from abroad, and the care and preparation of the pigeons are handled by his parents. Regarding bloodlines, the new prize-winning hen descends from two original breeders from “Fauna Orheiului” and is the daughter of a pigeon ranked 1st Ace Pigeon 2023 at the Fauna Orheiului One Loft Race.
