Vasile Muntean is an extremely renowned breeder in Romania, having made a significant contribution to the field of pigeon racing for almost two decades. His involvement in this phenomenon has manifested at the county level, where he served as president for nearly 12 years.
The pleasure of victory was felt as early as 1994, when he became the National Champion in speed and middle distance racing. In the following years, Muntean also added the national title in the National Ace category to his achievements. Expanding his activities beyond the country's borders brought him considerable advantages, allowing him to acquire pigeons of the highest quality. Thus, in his breeding compartment, he integrated pigeons with origins from renowned breeders such as Thomas Peeters, Raymund Hermes, Maurice Delbar, Wegen, Kuypers, Kipp and Fii, Lessmeister, E. Denys, Mathiys Desmet, W. Emser, A+L V.D. Wegen, V. Loon, Janssen, and Jan Theelen.
With a comprehensive approach and successfully competing in races from 100 to 1000 km, Vasile Muntean remains a reference figure in the history of pigeon racing, due to his remarkable performances in the most important long-distance competitions held in Transylvania. The several decades of experience he has accumulated in pigeon racing, along with his skills as a breeder and, particularly, his exceptional genetic background, have generated numerous positive references from breeders across the country and beyond its borders.
